Kaal979: Suddenly ive found the desktop size and position tab which allowes
multiple scaling settings and it now works - thank you so much ... .

P.S.: I must apologize but my nvidi settings are obviously crazy since
the said tab after restarting the nvidia setting now again misses but it
appeared when i had the settings tab open for over an hour ... .
that is your old machine laughing his ass off ;)

you know what they say, how older the crazier

Radiance1979: yea, your probably missing something, nvidia's control centers almost all ship out the same way. Take a good look at the picture provided by Teceem

Cadaver747: Not always though, I had (have?) at least two systems (notebook included) where this option was not available, like it was not even there. I think it's partially due to specific monitor and out of date video adapter, in some cases the odd hybrid between intel and nvidia cards. Here look at my Nvidia Settings from my old GeForce 740M notebook and see for yourself.

A friend of mine have proper nvidia card and an old 4:3 CRT monitor he also does not have that option.
yea, the moment is discovered the laptop is from around 2009 i calculated for such a possibility ;)
