Today's welcome release of Karate Survivors reminded me that I am currently playing a survivorslike called Holocure. It's one of the best ones, and it's free, so I figured I would recommend it to you all. It's currently on version 0.7, but it already has about a zillion characters, and features you do not find in other games of this type, such as farming and fishing. The only caveat I can think of is that the game speed is tied to the framerate, so some old netbooks might struggle if they cannot achieve the required 60fps. A Steam Deck is fine.

I made a GOG wishlist entry, but you can get it DRM-free from itch.io, or you can download it from Steam if you prefer (both are linked on the pcgamingwiki page below).

If this helps someone, that's great. If you've never played one of these sorts of games, this will give you a good idea of what the gameplay is like.

Edit: I actually meant to type Vampire Survivors-type game in the subject field. It's not actually about vampires, and it's a free fan game, not associated with Poncle, the creators of that game.

Thank you for the tip! I've been curious about Vampire Survivors, but it just doesn't seem like a gameplay type I'd enjoy much. I've been mentally tossing it into the pile of games that play themselves :P This looks like a great way to check out the genre :)

Neither was Vampire Survivors... well, until the last DLC, anyways.
