Hi,

Can someone explain something to me about the hitman series?

The 'Hitman 2: Silent Assassin' that I can find here on GOG is not the same as the 'HITMAN™ 2' (along with its DLC-like missions) I can find elsewhere correct? Also, for someone who likes stealth games, what's a good "entry" to the series? Perhaps the 'Hitman: Absolution' that already own here on GOG?

Thank you,
~Genly

For a good entry well i can tell you which of the games here on GOG i like the best and that is Hitman Blood Money and Contracts, I do like SIlent Assassin too while Absolution is middling but easiest to get into.

GenlyAi:
You should compare release dates.
HITMAN 2 was released in 2018, which has not been released on GOG (yet?).

Hitman 2: Silent Assassin on GOG is from 2002.

If you're aiming on a GOG purchase, you can try Hitman: Blood Money or Contracts, as suggested by ChrisGamer300. If you're just looking for a good entry into the series, then I suggest HITMAN (2016), or HITMAN 2 (2018) with the Legacy pack containing 2016's maps.

They're the best in the series, as of yet.

ChrisGamer300: Silent Assassin is the original Hitman 2 not the reboot if that is what you are asking
Hitman 2 (the most recent game in the World of Assassination trilogy) is not a reboot, nor is Hitman (2016). All the Hitman games follow the narrative started in the first game and are sequels, despite weird detours in naming conventions.

I'm not saying they all make perfect sense when analyzed in great detail either, but so far there's been no "THIEF" styled disaster done to the series.

My mistake, i did not pay much attention to these ridiculous naming conventions but thx.

No worries. Honestly, I used to think Absolution was a reboot until I started paying attention to the story. I suppose I took for granted just how deep an overall story the series could have.
Thank you all, I upvoted all posts.
Death to Spies are another couple of games are a little similar to the htiman games, that go for cheap on sales.
