gamlerompadi: in my gog library it says i have heroesV + hammers of fate in one, and then tribes of the east in another. but when i open the heroesV + hammers of fate i can only choose the original heroesV. i cant find hammers of fate anywhere. keep in mind that im not very proficient with a pc. haaaaalp.
I just installed Heroes V to see if you are right and at first I thought yes, you are. There is only a desktop link to the base game created on the desktop, no shortcut for the Hammers of Fate expansion is created.
But when you open the search bar of the Windows start menu and enter HoMM V - Hammers of Fate, you will find the short cut to Hammers of Fate.
I do not know how this would look in Galaxy, as I do not use it.
To recap:
The old bundle installer which installs the Heroes of Might and Magic V base game, the Hammers of Fate and the Tribes of the East expansions creates the following dekstop links and start menu entries:
Heroes of Might and Magic V
Heroes of Might and Magic V - Hammers of Fate
Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East
The new installers are split in two: One for the base game and the Hammers of Fate expansion(as vv221 said above) and one installer for the Tribes of the East expansion.
The installer for the base game and the Hammers of Fate expansion creates a desktop link Heroes of Might and Magic V which links to the base game "H5_Game.exe" in the directory \bin without the expansion.
It creates two start menu entries. One is named "Heroes of Might and Magic V"(same as the desktop link) and another entry "HoMM V - Hammers of Fate" which links to the to the expansion "H5_Game.exe" in the directory \bina1.
The Tribes of the East installer creates a desktop link Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East and an extra start menu entry with the link Heroes of Might and Magic V - Tribes of the East.
GOG should fix this - it is a bit confusing to have different spellings of the base game name and no shortcut for the expansion on the desktop, which you won't find if you enter Heroes...only if you enter HoMM.... in the search field of the start menu.
