More info, please. What pc are you using? What message does it return, etc.

Easy fix, play HoMM 2 instead. Its way better.

You can try asking on the game forum - gog.com/forum -> bottom left search bar, search "heroes of might" - or contact Support using the menu at the top.

get your money back, via cc cashback or refund. then buy that game on steam, at least it works there. selling broken stuff is gog's main core value nowdays.

Windowed mode is often the answer. Try installing the hd mod:
https://sites.google.com/site/heroes3hd/
and then disabling fullscreen.

Could be the resolution, so just try HD mod that Matewis linked normally first and disable fullscreen if that doesn't work. There's more solutions available in the HOMM subforum if that doesn't work either: https://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series
