I have been seeing people post links as one word or phrase without having to put the link address in. How do you do that?

Use url tag. The easiest way is to write a text, select it with your cursor, click chain icon to the left (next to underlined U) and put in an address after "url=".

Well, the best way to learn such a thing is to click on reply, then you can see the syntax someone else has used to do this.
