I have learned that E will speak and A and D will move. I don't know how to close the program though.

You don't close Distraint ... Distraint closes you!!

ESC, which should bring up the menu. QUIT will be one of the options on the left side of the screen.
There's also the brute force options...

ALT+F4

Or... Alt+Ctrl+Delete, open task manager, and close the process.

If you're using Mac/Linux, then

ps -aux | grep -i distraint
kill -hup xxxxx
(xxx being the process ID, likely 2-65530)

Ctrl+Shift+Esc opens Task Manager straightaway, without having to visit the intermediary selection screen (which I assume is still a thing in Windows 10). : )
