zeogold: I was just struck with a childhood memory of a game, and have been looking up random search terms on the internet to try and find it again for the last hour or so.
I remember it being an adventure game of some sort, with pictures in the middle and text of what was going on over on the side. The character on the title screen was this big green dragon that I think had glasses (although I could be wrong on this). It was written in a storybook/fairy tale type of style/setting, but I don't remember what the goal was. Pretty sure it was a kids' game. Could've been educational, for the purpose of building reading skills, perhaps? Judging by what I remember of the graphics, it was made sometime in the 90s or early 2000s. Seemed to be aimed at around ages 8 and up.
This is a vague description, I know, but maybe you guys are old enough to have seen it and help me out here,

dewtech: Is it another one of your puzzles, Puzzlemaster?
I guess you could think of it like that. Only thing is, I'm also looking for the solution myself.

Geralt_of_Rivia: Have you checked out Eric the Unready? It is an adventure and not a RPG. And its humour might make you think it is a kids game even though it isn't.

I desperately HOPE this isn't a kids' game.
Are there better toys than the ones depicted thusly?

I'd gladly trade them all for some LEGOs.

Suits me just fine. Here, have all of my LEGOs.
Arcanum?

zeogold: Nope. It's looking more like what I had in mind, though.

Nope, none of that. Seems to be getting in the ballpark, though.

Does the green dragon plays an important role in this game, such as a protagonist/antagonist, or it's just an NPC?  Is it an interactive story, an educational game with exercises, or a point-and-click adventure game?  Did you play the game on DOS or Windows?  Did you need to type or select commands in this game?

It was an NPC, far as I recall. You played as an adventurer of some sort, if I remember correctly. I think Jack and the Beanstalk were one of the fairy tales/some of the characters involved, but I'm not sure. It did have some sort of fantasy theme.

Half interactive story, half point-and-click game. Your actions could affect what took place.

Don't remember whether it was Windows or DOS, but I THINK Windows.

You mean commands like "OPEN CAN" or "KICK BALL" or "DROP WOMBAT" or something? No.

Nope. Too old and too adventure-y/point-and-click-y.
Try self-hypnosis with a pendulum, it might help your concentration!  :-p

Last time I tried that, all I got was "incense-covered chocobo", and I have no clue what that means.
I found it! It's one of the Galswin series of games, presumably one of the reading ones. I'll mark _Slaugh_ as the answer since he tried the hardest to help. Also because that was a cool science video.

Thanks, everybody!
