Hello,

I just saw an "impossible to say no" offer. Basically Commandos 2 + 3 for 1 €.

Please, did someone try to run them on Windows 10? There is no other chance to play them on Win 7 neither 8 as my computers were provided with Win 10 and I won't step back to Win 7/8 just for playing one/two games...

If not, will be there a chance/upgrade in the future to make them playable on the aforementioned system?

Thank you and have a great gaming!

Its doesn't say win 10 compatible on the game page, therefore you would be on your own in terms of support, but for 1 euro is it a major issue? Almost all games you can get running, you may need a version of dx, or driver, or c++ addin or something else. Always, I.e. Anything - should be installed outside windows folders. Create a folder for your games and install there, this causes half the issues. Other than that look at guidance on the web, first google result was a steam forum for help.
Guys, thanks for your help. I reply myself: once you install them and you run them for the first time on Win 10, a new window will pop up advising you to install DirectPlay app. This app is automatically searched and found by Windows so you basically have to do NOTHING. Once it's also installed, you'll be able to run them WITHOUT ANY ISSUE.

Thank you :)

I just bought the game. I'm running Windows 10 but I was unable to run it from GOG Galaxy. I then tried running it from the installation directory and got the following error:

"the application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000022)"

Where did you install it too?
Did you look at the suggestions placed in the above posts?

I don't know where galaxy installs as I don't use it. Rule one with any software on windows (any software) is to not install to program files or program files (86). Create a folder called c:/mygames or something like that and install there. Windows UAC is a pain and stops things working.
Secondly, the posters above provided links to a steam help posts, and suggest to enable directplay legacy. You should try both of those. Doesn't matter what dx cersin you have, its directplay which is quite old.
If I was a mod, I would automatically move questions like this to the GOG forum devoted to the Commando series, and notify the poster via email.

Directplay legacy worked perfectly thanks! I followed these instructions to get it to work:

1. Click Start
2. Start typing "Turn Windows features on or off"
3. Click on "Turn Windows features on or off"
4. Make sure there is a check in Legacy Components
5. Click the + to expand
6. Check the box for DirectPlay
