You should probably wait for reviews regardless, given the pugigree of the developer.

I doubt it'll ever live up to the hype or what was even originally intended, just like Silksong.

Unlike Silksong, there isn't any hype at this point, though, and hasn't been for years. More like anti-hype. For majority of fans if it'll turn out anything above mediocre, it'll be a massive surprise.
