There's a Giant Bundle sale that has a bunch of management and traffic games. Has anyone played these before?

Are the Traffic Giant and Transport Giant games similar to OpenTTD?

In fact they are all well known old managerial games. They were pretty popular in europe, tweaked to run in newer resolutions including widescreen and probably correcting compatibility in newer windows. I have launched each one for testing and the games seems to run smooth. I can't speak about the stability when played for hours.

Never tried the Hotel Giant series before but they are managerial games in the vein of Theme Hospital and a bit of the sims, pizza tycoon...etc. you build, contract personal and manage an hotel.

Industry Giant series are much more known at least for me. They are a mix between Capitalism series and Transport Tycoon. Graphically and interface wise the first version is very similar to ttd or openttd. Isometric grid based with heights, possibility of random maps etc. The second one seems to be more plain in maps, and that was one of the things I disliked the most in the game, but the graphics and engine are much better

Transport Giant could be considered the closest thing to what OpenTTD or TTD was. Basically it is the same concept with its personal ideas and functionalities.

And Traffic Giant game could be considered as the urban transport focused part in TTD or Sim City games basically. It also could be compared to Cities in Motion in the concept but older and in 2D.

Greetings

Thanks for the info!

Also, do you know if any of the games have a zoom or scaling feature?

Yes. Basically all of them have zoom option.

Because of the higher resolutions the interface is tied to your screen res, it is hardcoded apparently, and the higher the resolution the smaller the interface. So no scaling for the interface, only for the ingame graphics via zoom, but the games accept even lower different resolutions if needed.

Hotel Giant Games are 3D. The rest are 2D like in OpenTTD but higher resolution/rendering. This is, they were originally SVGA minimum, offering less pixelated graphics when scaled.

That's good that they have a zoom.

Do you know if any of the games have mods or different engines?

Not really sure about mods or engines. But some of them if not all, come with an editor so, probably in the past, people created some content like new missions or maps. But I have not looked into it.

Do you know where one could find a manual for Transport Giant?

It looks like the GOG version doesn't have one.
