The Dealer's Apprentice

This is a high-stakes game, where weapons, companions, and monsters will enter the fight as the cards dictate. The stakes just got a bit higher, and it looks like 2018 will bring even more content and challenges!

But who better to talk about the future of Hand of Fate 2 than the architects of the game? Read on!

"Today sees the release of the first of our free add-ons for Hand of Fate 2 - The Dealer's Apprentice! On starting a new run, players will unlock new Dealer-inspired customization options, while those who have completed the final challenge will be awarded the ultimate prize: a Dealer companion of their very own! To claim the Dealer's Apprentice, simply head into the new Additional Content menu item at the start screen and select "Claim".

The Dealer's Apprentice is just a tiny taste of the cool ways we'll be expanding Hand of Fate 2 in the new year. It's no secret that we've been working on a full-featured Endless Mode - one that will provide both hardcore and casual players with fresh challenges and a ton of new unlockables. Beyond that (and without spoiling too much), we've got a brand new enemy faction in the works, even more companion characters, engaging new challenges, and some exciting new weapons and artefacts, as well as cool tweaks to a few already in the game (why should Estrella be the only one able to enjoy those flintlock pistols, amiright?).

2018 is going to be a big year for Hand of Fate 2, so stick around, folks. We've got plenty of tricks still up our sleeves."
Shhhhh... Nothing happened;D

That's odd. You have to 'claim' your free DLC from the menu rather than being automatically unlocked. I wonder why that is. Is it a way of controlling your DLC addons in case you don't like cards added in a particular DLC?
It's not clear how much of all that stuff is free.

What do you mean claim it from the menu? What menu? Where?

You have to go into the "additional content" option in the main menu and claim the DLC. It seems to just activate the DLC so I'm not sure why it was set up that way. The menu seems to be there for selling additional DLCs eventually but I'm not sure how that will work on GoG. Maybe buy and install them seperately like every other DLC on GoG and then activate them in-game? There are a few games on GoG do something similar (eg. War for the Overworld) - when you click buy it just sends you to the GoG page for the DLC rather than letting you buy in-game (which is fine with me).

most likely that is the approach
A small note to Linux users, the game uses a modern version of Unity, if you're running on low end hardware you may try running it using the Vulkan renderer instead of OpenGL. In terminal just run the game with the -force-vulkan command line.
Where is this claim button meant to be? There's no such thing in my game at least and I don't see anything in the game's GoG page in my collection either.

There's a button to continue a game, start a new game, load a game and settings. Then there's "Endless Mode (coming soon).

No additional content button to be seen.
