Wow, now I see why it took them practically 7 years to make the Xen levels, this look looks far more then just merely platforms in space.

Yeah, it's very cool. According to Valve devs interviews, Xen in the original Half-life was severely cut, compared to what they envisioned from start. It's nice to see that in Black Mesa "border world" will recieve treatment it deserves.

Looks great! Seems as if in HL:Black Mesa Xen might outshine the rest of the game, instead of the other way round as in the original.

It does look amazing and reminds me of why I actually like the Half-Life lore... Still, I kinda lost all interest in the Black Mesa mod already. Played what was available years ago and now I just can't seem to bother to even care about it. Now if Half-Life 3 (or episode 3 or whatever) comes out, then we'll talk... Yes I know, it was released as a tale, and I liked it.

Yep, the original was ruined for me in the moment of the transition. Xen was really really bad.

Looks nice... but for people who hated the original Xen levels, why would they like the remade levels? Aren't they basically the original levels with better graphics?

I personally didn't dislike the Xen levels. They were a bit weird, but ok. Maybe I even preferred that the whole Half-life game wasn't only in the offices and Mesa industrial zone.

No, this a complete redesign and much bigger, that is why it took so long.

Also the thread title is misleading, it is not finished at all, it is supposed to be released in Q2 2019, still months to go.

The entire mod is a "reimagining" of the original Half-Life. The levels are not the same, in fact, some levels even got axed entirely or almost. So this is the chance for Xen to actually be good haha

I liked the original BMS mod as it was when it was released.

It wasn't the HL experience all over again by any means, but it was a good mod.
