I am a chick who loves gaming and the Withcher series. I have been playing the Gwent game from closed Beta. I'm getting sick of it! But I don't want to.

The designers seem to only want to please the upper echelon. I'm clever enough, but I am not a "SERIOUS" card player, as in I wouldn't loose my house over it. So here's the deal:

Every time the game is adjusted such gross changes are made as to make each "adjustment" a totally new game. The changes to each deck are excessive.

I understand the goals are to balance decks, keeps the game intersesting and competitive. However, in that process regular fans are being frustrated with the lack of consistancy. Adding a few new cards at a time with new abilities vs changing large portions of each deck for every twerk is exhausting!!!

Trying to learn new decks each time there is a tweek is aggravating to say the least. Do one thing at a time. Tweek some cards then change some more another time, then next time add some cards.

Don't do EVERYTHING at once! It is too much and the game looses its fun when there are no consistant concepts.

For instance, why have GOLD cards that ANY other card can affect? Gold is just another card when that happens , nothing special, no real value anymore.

And people wonder why women feel uncomfortable in the gaming community :D

Not that I see howher being a chick is relevant to the Gwent thing, but then and I don't know the game.

You'd be better off posting your thoughts on the forum for this game as gog is just a storefront, nothing to do with development:

Good advice, but not technically true. Gog are involved with the development of Gwent, not exactly sure in what capacity or if it's just through Galaxy, but they are still advertising at least one Gwent related job on their website. (and on a side note, damn they are advertising a lot of jobs. That UK PR one has been up for months...)

Also this thread has been here for nearly 12 hours and no "I've got 99 problems but Gwent ain't one" posts? Shame on you all.

Ok, maybe gog is just being consumed by cdpr then. As for the problems here, there is no point going over it. I rarely put any money this way any more and don't recommend the site to anyone. Plenty of other avenues and backlogs to get through.

I'm just saying the Gwent players are not all men, just an information point. Some things are geared towards men, some women. I'm interested in playing this game, not with dolls, okay, I want to play with dolls too...

I play the game for the art on the cards (assume I'm alone there) but yes the patch system can be a major pain

Hey, that's pretty much my favourite thing about Magic the Gathering. I don't think I'd ever play a virtual CCG for the art, collecting virtual cards is no fun for me, but it's still an important element.

I agree that they cater to the upper echelon but I think that's mainly through the skinner box and business model they've chosen to implement around the game.

When I played Gwent I felt the game was more or less anti-social. Everything feeds into the tredmill of winning cards so playing with friends is pointless. Competiton is the only productive use of one's time in Gwent to advance through the grind until losing wears you down enough to simply buy packs.

I lament the loss and unrealized potential in games like Magic 2013/2014 (Duels of the Planeswalkers [DOTP]) that while having some grinding to unlock cards ultimately made their fun in the multiple game modes. DOTP was intensely social around Two-headed Giant games you would play with friends - strategize together and create interesting combinations between decks. The buisness model was also preferable as it was simply a straight fee of like 5bucks for a new deck or group of decks (I can't remember) when they added content.
