Nirth: I'm more interested in GTX 1070 but I don't intend to upgrade as the GTX 970 is still a beast especially since I still play at 1080p but I've noticed how great DSR is, both by bringing out the crisp quality of texture and the AA effect, I don't need 4K resolution but 2K is great (twice the pixels of Full HD).

As for upgrading, there's really only two interesting questions:
1) Do you need it?
2) Can you spare the cash?
If you answer yes to both, then avoiding an upgrade is irrational. ;)
Well, I can certainly spare the cash, but whether I need it or not is up for debate.

I am currently running two GTX 780 Ti in SLI and play at 2560x1440. Most games can run fun at max settings, but sometimes the framerates drop (Witcher 3 is one such example).

So on one hand a GTX 1080 is an upgrade for sure. On the other hand, I can probably last just fine until the Ti version comes out.

Nobody has a 1080 yet. =) I think they won't be sold until May 27th or so. And those will be the founders' (or reference) editions. Cards from other manufacturers (like Asus or XFX) won't appear until even later most likely.

Was happily rocking two 560 Ti's in SLI, until one got fried last week, when playing Serious Sam 3 with an apparently non-functioning card fan that went unnoticed. I still don't see any reason to upgrade, unless you are playing those shiny $100 AAA titles with their season passes and all, or doing VR.

If you scroll down you can see 2560 x 1440 performance but there's no comparison to GTX 780.

They said 2x faster than titan X and from what it looks likes it is like 30 to 40 percent faster, So I am thinking now they said 1070 is faster then a titan X so would it be like 10%?


I still want to see what AMD is bringing in 2 weeks with the new cards, From what they said a 480x is faster then a 390x so lets see benches when they get hands on cause I am all over the place with these new cards.
