i am using the game on windows 10 , at the petrified forest you have to balance the pumps using the wheel barrow.

the game keeps throwing me into an overhead view and when this happens i cannot do anything so i have to quit.

this is random , sometimes it happens before i pick up the wheel barrow and sometimes it happens after i have solved the puzzle.

i had the origional version of the disc so i know how the game should progress

If you definitely can't do anything, ie move, it sounds like compatibility issue, maybe you could run it on an old Win 7 laptop if there isn't a patch?

I remember that's a tricky puzzle though and I too played both versions.

But yea that's one reason I won't be upgrading to Win 10.

You won't be upgrading because there "might" be a bug? *sigh* the endless stupidity makes me sad.

What video card do you have? and what version of open GL ? I've hear about some issues with intel HD integrated. It's a shame because nowdays the old classic version has his own bugs (i.e [SPOILER] like the conveyer belt on the 3rd year [/SPOILER] ) and one of the main reasons for the remastered is avoid the bugs caused for playing with an OP microprocessor. In that case I recommend ResidualVM but if you have the new HD Remastered It's supposed to work fine. Sorry for my bad english

No because of the compatibility of numerous games and printer drivers I own and windows 10. But yes stupidity, sighs

i am using the new gtx 1080

So that means that you have open gl 3.3
Have you tried with another save or you don't have enough saves? Can you try that puzzle comming from another save? (earlier) or ... have you tried changing some graphical effects /features? (idk if it's possible in the remastered)

The original game has the software emulation of glide but you can try it too! with this tutorial (I've found it at some steam discussions) The tutorial is recommended for those who can't even play the game (intel HD :/ ) but if you don't feel tedius follow that, maybe you can try it just for that part.

Sorry, I couldn't find a better solution right now but maybe another user can.

Any news? here in this discussion there're people affected by the same glitch as you and everybody's "solution" was just load an older save (and cross their fingers I guess)

For folks that still run into this, changing the graphics settings to use Windowed mode solved the problem for me. Apparently changing from Remastered to Original rendering helped some folks, but did nothing for me.

Yeah, it's not unique to W10. I also had this with Windows 8.1.

Be warned: this is not the only area that can throw this error randomly. Be sure to save often to avoid having to re-do a lot of work.
