magajocca: Thanks MagicMan but I already made a trade for the key.
Why didn't you like it?
It's a 2008 pc game and my little cousins wanted to play it :)
Stocking up on easy games to play during rainy season.
Awesome you got a key and are getting the game.

I don't like it because of the controls. I know people have always said you have to get use to the controls, but, wow, slightest touch and your car just dances all over the place. I have driven a car in real life at 152 mph/245 kmh, and if the steering was that loose I would be dead. I found the controls really wonky. now I have played and own a ton of racing games from all genres and many systems.

Nigel Mansel Formula 1 on the SNES, Grant Turismo 2, 3, 4, Forza, 2, 3 Forza Horizon, Dirt, Pure, Super Mario Kart, MK: Doubel Dash, Mario Kart 8, Burnout 3, Paradise, Mod Nation racers, among others and I just found the car handling to be unplayable.

With the exception of driving games that make the paddle buttons L and R triggers mandatory for driving games (stupidest design ever) I can adjust and play all sorts of different driving styles, but GRID was just too random for me.

magajocca: yea with the exception of having a driving simulator rig.. the controls on GRID really cant compare in real life..
(I only driven a car in real life at 60-80 kph haha)
It isn't so much real life I am shooting for, I mean the setting adjustments on Forza are great, but arcade racers are usually when I have the most fun. I usually make the Forza handling a little more forgiving and arcade-style, but GRID (and this is just my opinion) is the desire to make an arcade racer with the idea that you just throw out all car physics. Well, at some point the car needs some real physics, the ability to turn in a standard way. To me it as if the game just works randomly. I would do the same turn and sometimes I would oversteer and sometimes I went in to understeer. it just never seemed predicable. Now you can say I am crappy at games (I'm not), but being able to replicate the most basic things in a game should be the most basic of game design functions.

When you play a game that is well-made the results of an action should be predictable - Mario's jump for example. The "Oh, No!" you hear people say when playing a game is instant recognition that they are the one who made the mistake. When you see people always looking down at the controller, the game designers are the ones who made the mistake.

tomyam80: Ah i c... thks 4 the info but i was talking in general abt some games like Fallout which GOG managed 2 bring back. Well, guess racing games which need many licencing wld probably not make it back then.

Talking abt missed games, does any1 still hv extra copies of Descent or Arma series? Pretty upset that i missed getting them when they were still on GOG, sigh. :( Steam still hv Arma series 4 sale but i prefer DRM-free version, if any1 does pls pm me 4 , thanks. :)

magajocca: Post a new topic for arma 2 gog version key :) I am sure someone still has one extra.
Hmmm... i dunno if i shd create a new topic just 2 ask 4 a game but i think maybe i'll try asking in the GOG gifting thread instead.
