keeganxvx: Since the last Galaxy update, I'm only getting a grey screen on the galaxy client. I've done exactly what's listed on the support page if this happens, twice, but each time to no avail. Version is 1.2.17 on Windows 7 32-bit.
Anyone know of a different way to fix this?
Hello.
Have you tried installing Gog Galaxy to another location (e.g. C/Games)?
That fixed the grey screen of doom for me. :)
If that doesn't help, try contacting GOG support.
P.S. You should be able to copy the games files to the new location via "copy and paste". Or if GOG Galaxy opens (as it should) you can just use its import games from folders feature.
UPDATE:
For me the above fix was only a 1 time solution. If the grey screen still persists (as it did with me), try enabling various compatibility settings.
Personally, I was able to solve the issue by disabling any kind of compatibility settings.
It appears that the trick is in enabling (most reports say XP mode) or disabling (unticking it) the compatibility setting(s).
Good luck with getting rid of the grey screen. :)
