It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Why not? It's just leet-speek. Databases sometimes use Phonetic alphabets to figure out what you're saying in order to translate it, so fone and phone both equate to the same thing; $=s, all types of special annunciations get dropped to the base type, etc. And with the help of users who can enter in a 'better translation', certain fixed phrases can get translated perfectly.

Ciris:
The Neverwinter subforum is once again spammed, could you please grab your hammer again?
Right now there seems to be a single bot active (currently as user Izzieallen789). But some of the subforums still need a little cleanup.

Already gone, but there's a single one in M&M.
The anti-spam system seems to be working rather well at the moment. Some bad threads may still get through but we're still working on additional mechanisms of spam-blocking and are about to launch another anti-spam measure - we'll see if it's more effective :)
Don't know is it spam / anti-spam related.
My system is not responsive on the main page. Luckily the navigation bar on top is functional.
Has anyone encounter this or just me?

PS. Using a netbook on xubuntu and Firefox right now (CPU: Atom N450)

Looks like my system gone bad and return normal after reboot.

Aturuxo: I'm sorry if I was too harsh, I hadn't had my morning coffee yet and finding the forums still flooded with spam made me feel like I had been given a band-aid to heal a maimed leg... I'm glad to see I was wrong and that you were really working on it, I really hope it works.
I don't think you have too many CEOs, it was just a manner of speaking and a way to make clear my rant wasn't targetting you -the Blues- specifically. You guys are just the face of the company, and you do an excellent work.
As a matter of fact, I think GOG is an amazing project and wish I'd found it earlier... you people have managed to make me pay for my games again without feeling stupid! -And that's no small achievement, trust me ;)

This said, the whole community area of the site really needs a seriious revamp (or at least a bunch of usability features), and that API needs some tweaking asap: the Fallout subforum is still being hit as we speak.

Thank you for looking into this, for keeping us informed and for all your work in general.
Looks like I owe you an apology as well. I'm trying to catch up on the spam situation, and the information and comments are spread across multiple threads. I apologize for lashing out at you in the other thread (or was it this thread?), based on your angry comment about what is going on.

Surely the script is working fast as I still saw them while writing the post :)

Right now it looks very good! :-)
As long as we don't get pages and pages of spam every fracking hour we can deal with it.

Apology accepted :)

It was in the other thread, I refrained from answering you there because I (correctly) assumed you were working with incomplete data and didn't want to add to the spam by posting the same on different threads over and over again. Posting the initial rant in 2 threads was another heat-of-the-moment mistake, sorry about that too.
Congrats on getting something in place. I'm not going to delete the bookmarklets quite yet seeing as how the spambots have a tendency to hit this place harder during other times, but if things are still good in 14 or so hours when they typically turn full Hulk and go on a rampage (spampage?), that'll definitely be cause for celebration.

so far so good - no post for 30+ minutes in affected subforums... congrats for working solution! :D

Yeah, I hadn't seen Ciris' posts about the new system yet, and while I'd opened several threads, that was one of the first I'd started catching up on. I'm still trying to work out a compromise between "Finish reading the updates, in case someone already addressed this" and "Address this while I'm going along, so I don't have to backtrack a lot".

We've had lulls in the spam threads even before GoG got anything in place. Might want to wait a day or two before calling this problem solved. >.>

We have added another preventative measure to battle the many spambots that have been attacking our forums - it is no longer possible to create a forum thread if you only have the set of free games you get upon registration in your game library (adding posts to existing topics is not affected). This should rid us entirely of unwanted spam threads, as spambots will be unable and/or unwilling to purchase games.

If this will prove to be a big inconvenience for users, we will remove it - but it should rid us entirely of spam. We will continue working on solutions less restrictive to other users once the flood of spambots is under control.
