With your name I was going to suggest Syberia but it is a point and click adventure so not your thing.
You won't like my recommendations; I'd list a bunch of things that would work great on your system but won't match your specified genre and similar games you are looking for.

Though, I'm sure of 3D games: Quake 1+2, Duke Nukem, Unreal and Doom will have no issues and will sorta fit that genre.

There is an insane pack of games you can play with that notebook, this is the site for that. The list may be extensive, there is trully a stack of stuff you can run.
My humble suggestions would be

Stalker shadow of chernobyl
Far Cry 1 and 2
Bound by Flame
The tomb rider games
E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy
Mirrors Edge

And the list goes on!! There is a bunch of gems to play!
low rated
kagura games are as much as low end as possible
The OP may still be interested in recommendations, but know that they asked more than 2 years ago. This is a Necro post.
Most older Falcom games are great, I recommend Trail in the Sky 1-3 and Ys: The Oath in Felghana the most. You should be able to run Trails 0/azure when it comes out and maybe Cold Steel 1/2.
I know this was necro'd but it is an interesting thread to me. I was thinking about making one about best GOG games to potentially run on like a $300-500 office computer.

The most obvious candidates are probably DOSbox games that aren't 3D intensive. Older 2D indies also, from when indies started to become popular in the Steam era (World of Goo, Braid, Aquaria, etc.)

I got Flatout 1 running on an old Win7 office machine for some friends not long ago.

The main non-GOG free games that come to mind are Blupi games (especially Speedy Blupi 1 and 2), and Hamumu Software games, namely Spooky Castle, Supreme With Cheese, and the Loonyland games (I had trouble running them on older post-XP machines but Spooky Castle at least ran fine on my Win10 machine).

Some of the games that play fine on lower end systems:
* Shovel Knight
* Celeste
* Timespinner
* Ikenfell (if the GPU is recent enough; my small laptop plays this game just fine, my old desktop does not)
* Saviors of Sapphire Wings / Stranger of Sword City Revisited (has some lag, but not enough to make the game unplayable unless you're using an older version of WINE)
* Pathfinder: Kingmaker (some lag, but manageable; don't try Wrath of the Righteous, as that game is more demanding)

These games I've either played on my old desktop when it still had major cooling issues, or on my small laptop (which is comparable to a Chromebook in terms of specs).
