(Note: Assume GOG versions for these games, as some may have ports to other platforms that require a mouse.)

Ultima 1-5 don't use the mouse. Ultima 6 supports the mouse, but it is optional.

Might and Magic 1-2 don't use the mouse, and I believe it's optional for MM 3-5.

If you aren't really into early RPGs, you could try some 2D platformers. In particular, VVVVVV can even be played one-handed without difficulty, and Wonder Boy: The Dragon's Trap is also decent. About the only one I would stay away from is Guacamelee!, as that game pretty much needs a game controller, which you probably won't have room for.

One more thing: Do you have a numeric keypad on your laptop? Some games (most notably, the SSI Gold Box games, and that includes Unlimited Adventures) expect you to have one, and playing them without can be quite cumbersome.
A keyboard-only game would be nearly unplayable to me, I always play with mouse/gamepad. Why not play on phone/tablet ? It takes less space than a laptop and there's a decent PS1 emulator on android if you're not into casual trash.

Some games like turn-based tactical RPGs lend themselves very well to touchscreen controls. When my computer died on me, I had a great time playing "Saiyuki: Journey West" on my phone, not as great as using a PSP or a proper portable console, but still pretty good and not just the controls, graphics were sharp and crisp too.

prayZition: Will be taking a long flight home for the holidays this next weekend armed only with my 17" laptop. Never really enjoyed watching movies on planes due to the obvious noise issues. Figured I would try playing some games, and my bet is that there will be no room for a mouse.
Do you fly in first class, or do you really think you can fit a 17" laptop on your lap or the food table? At least here the tourist class cabin seats are so cramped that I wouldn't really try to use a 17" laptop there. Heck it would probably hit me to chest if the passenger in front of me decided to lower their seat to sleeping position.

That is one place where I'd much rather try to use an Android tablet or even a phone for entertainment, than a PC laptop. Unless it was a very small and light laptop.

As for the noise issues for watching movies during flights, I see two possibilities:

1. Buy noise-cancelling earphones. They help lowering down the humming and hissing sounds in the cabin so that you can hear something from the movies. Make sure your earphones come with those dual-plugs (adapter) that usually seem to be needed for flight audio; at least my Sennheiser noise-cancelling earphones came with such an adapter by default.

2. Or a cheaper (and possibly even more effective) solution: use normal earpieces (e.g. the ones they give to passengers during the flights), and on top of them put normal ear protection headset which muffles all external sounds. This is a simple solution and works very well for listening audio in noisy environments. The only problem is that you look kinda goofy wearing a such big headset, but who cares anyway.

I do indeed have a numeric keypad, so that is not a bad idea at all. Had not thought about it.
Thanks man

Sadly I do not fly in first class, no. But I am fairly certain that I will be able to make room. At least I hope so...
Thanks for the advice on the earphones. I do have a great pair of Bose. The thing is, I guess, that I am cursed by my trade as my work is sound for pictures. I have a really hard time turning off the "analytical" part of my brain while watching and, well listening, to movies. So it is as much the general enviroment rather than just the noise I guess.

You're welcome, but it seems you neglected to read my forum title. (I'm not a man, so please don't call me one.)

Oh my bad - never ment to offend.
I say it so often that I have forgotten the meaning of the word, I guess.
I do sincerely apologize.
Crusader: No Remorse /thread =P What's a mouse?
The Cat Lady is played with keyboard only.

Or any point-and-click adventure should do as long as you can use the trackpad.
