Personally I enjoy a so called "itch night" every now and again, just playing a bunch of random games, some of them are real gems. I've seen someone already mentioned Puppet Combo games, what I love about them is definitely the style of 80's VHS films. Another one in somewhat similar style is No Players Online which actually has it's own lore in a way, it actually does feel as if the game itself is "haunted"
Scumhead (https://scumhead.itch.io/) has some great stuff there, definitely Lycanthorn, an FPS influenced by Castlevania which I absolutely adore for its visuals. Vomitoreum (FPS) looks fun, it currently has a kickstarter campaign. The world is inspired by the works of Zdzisław Beksiński which is a great sign.
Honorable mention also for Night Of The Consumers
