GOG.com is one of the 'trusted websites' in all my browsers privacy and security settings.
This is why I keep seeing embedded 'pop-up ads' - thankfully, not from 3rd party ad-servers, but rather GOG's own ''recommendations' and other 'sales' event related pop-ups.
This is - imho - a bad choice. Too aggressive. Annoying at best, and also something I have to click away to get to see the things, I actually came to GOG.com to see.
These ads are also as useful as the Namibian prince phishing Emails from the 1990?
You already have me visiting your website. I am not visiting by accident. I have intent. I am here on GOG.com's website because I want something. Either see or buy.
Blocking my view to your content with some pop-up ad is another hurdle, I have to click away to get to do what I came here for to do.
These pop-up ads are not going to make me suddenly buy things. You have ALL OF YOUR WEBSITE HEADERS and BACKGROUND canvas to place your ads and event-related promotions. There really is NO NEED to then also splash pop-up ads to annoy users?
Did I make my point clearly?
Thanks.
PS: Also, adding emojis to your Email subject line?
WTF?!
Who came up with this? Are you living out your 8-years old selves? It is annoying, unnecessary and makes your emails end up in my spam-folders.
Email subject line is there to tell a Email recepient what the email is about, not to look at micro-pictures. Leave that to your Twitter feed and other social media nonsense you have to use for promotion and marketing. It is imbecile, for a company to pretend it is a child?
Cheers.
