... you should refrain from offering a "thank you" gift game that...

... the customer just purchased.

I just bought a few games. Soulbringer was one of them. Upon opening my email, I was greeting by a "thank you" gift from you...

... Soulbringer!

But seeing that I just purchased the game, I couldn't receive the gift... even to re-gift it.

Anyway, you may want to tweak your "thank you" system.
Seems to be the way it works, somehow: https://www.gog.com/forum/general/bought_elderborn_and_got_an_email_saying_i_got_as_a_gift_elderborn
My thank you mail was only a advertiser for "others liked this too" games. It did contain nothing that was supposed to look like a gift.

The same for me.

Yep - same here.
In my case, they were thanking me for getting a free demo, which is stupid and annoying.

Can you believe the following. What were they thinking?

TITLED - Your purchase, our gratitude

Timboli, you've chosen great!

Thank you for supporting our idea of making games last forever by purchasing from us.

We hope, you will really enjoy

Heir of the Dog Demo!
As if we don't get enough emails from them anyway ... this is just spam.

I of course, also got the usual 'Free items added to your GOG.com library.' email, which is fine as it is a record of the transaction.

P.S. Oh to be a fly-on-the-wall in GOG's Thought Bubble Department. LOL

P.S.S. They can spend time on this type of nonsense, but what about fixing my pathetic download speed.

Mine mostly recommended soundtrack DLC for games I don't own.

I've never received a spare gift code either. If I had, I certainly wouldn't be complaining about it.
Yeah, whatever they were going for here, they seem to have screwed up the implementation (if there were indeed supposed to be gifts given out for some purchases), or screwed up the wording (making it seem as if gifts were intended to be given when there were not), or screwed up...something.
