Microsoft appears to be collaborating with Asus to bring an Xbox-branded handheld PC to market. Nothing revolutionary here, but I thought it was interesting to hear the current Xbox president Sarah Bond namechecking GOG in this segment of Xbox's big summer event.

Sure would be nice for Microsoft to actually publish more games here, of course, considering the ungodly amount of development teams it now owns.

Well, that's nice of her but a more substantial show of goodwill like, for instance, GOG re-releases of MechCommander 1 & 2 would be even nicer.

Or Freelancer if it's easier legally.
Aye, and? If GOG and Microsoft were buddy buddy, I can name at least 10 titles they published which would be nice to see here, and they're not all Flight Simulator, either.

Though, on reflecting on my current dreamlist of 27 pages, if I were a manager at GOG I would be asking myself what's wrong with the process at GOG if even chasing up games from developers with 0 publishers and a team of 1-5 people proves so hard.

Very briefly indeed; it was monosyllabic! It couldn't have been more perfunctory.
They certainly was not very enthusiastic, else there would be more than nearly zero Microsoft games arriving on GOG. Best bet so far is Bethesda and that one was already on GOG way before they actually became "owned by Microsoft".
