Isotope244: I hope your trousers taste good, they were not copy and paste, I made them myself in Paint Shop Pro, of course I used the SC icons as a reference. Why would I use different icons in my game? The whole point of an icon is so a user can quickly and easily identify something. If all games start using the same icon for a radar system, shield, factory, etc, then games are easier to play, no one wants to spend extra time learning what icons represent, they are a means to an end. Besides there's only so much you can do with 6x6 pixels lol

iippo: Oh well if you put it like that, then check this out:

I do not exactly feel need to my trousers.

Anyways, as mentioned before i dont really not anything about this game. Couple random screenshots and a video. Also i am not some bored troll with too much time at my hands.

What i however do know - is that my little brother is also working in gaming industry and he, just like me in my own field, are not allowed to use other peoples assets - be it physical or intellectual to profit. Without making deal about it ofcourse.

What you have done is taken those icons from Supreme Commander 1:1 and then changed pixel or two in *some* of the icons (like anti navis T-like symbol). And i am not lawyer, but i would guess that equals unlawful use of both other companys assets and intellectual property (the looks).

Really the main point here is not if i am bored troll or not. Or whether i agree with you that the idea of using "common" symbols is good (it is) ...but youre using these to make money. Thus if the shit goes badly the youll have to worry about arguing over this stuff with their lawyer. They know all the stuff about that.

Total Annihilation and Supreme Commander are my alltime favorite RTS's. I and really love the fact that someone makes new game based heavily on those games. I really appreciate it.

But just be aware that if you copy-paste "the forum trolls" are not the thing to worry about.

Also as stated before, ill probably buy the game eventually. ...however i have hundredrs of games worth backlog and am single part of two small kids so there is fair chance its going to take awhile :(

Edit: common sense, fair use and legality have very little to do with each other. Ask any lawyer.
