I should be so lucky ... if only it were so.

By swiftly, I was speaking relatively, as they still take a good while for me ... just better than they were during the height of the sale.

Nope, I am a long way from Sydney.
This sure is frustrating. It's been bad for a long time, but tonight seemed particularly so, forum barely crawling, getting stuck much of the time, connection errors (from browser, couldn't connect to GOG, not GOG's too busy error). The rest of the site seems to load normally though.

Timboli: That is why I am currently looking into developing a Windows based GOGRepo GUI.
I actually thought about doing the same for linux, lol (but didnt write any gui application thus far, so no promises)

Goodo. I've been trying to convince my buddy TheDcoder to do the same.

Thank you

With a quick superficial casual read of posts, it may seem like he is always or often bullied.
The truth however, is very much different, especially if you go back over the history of all that has happened.

No-one that I have ever seen, has deliberately singled him out for nasty attention of the bullying kind.
In fact he goes out of his way to be an irritant, and that is why he cops so much flack.

If he was diligent with his reading, read and answered properly, stopped preaching so much, and gave up this notion he is our much needed Fairy Godmother, and so instead showed some respect for the mentality of others, then he would be treated like most others.

That's not to say he can't have and is not entitled to a strong opinion, we all are, and many like myself show our strong views regularly. It is how you do it though and why, that counts.

He's not quietly sitting in a corner and being picked on. He's out there deliberately poking the bear, and naturally getting bitten etc for it.

I don't say any of the above to be mean to him.
I don't give him those negative votes either that he has so many of.
I've tolerated him a lot, engaged with him regularly, forgiven many of his annoyances.
But at the end of the day, like so many others I feel fed up with him.

Every now and then he does his big apology routine and promises to be better, but it never lasts for long.

I wish him all the best, but I refuse to directly engage with him anymore ... its tiring and tiresome.

A short reply then I won't post offtopic anymore here....only replying on this the once(no need to reply):
==================================================

The mass down raters that hit me and some others every day and the ones who have been caught spreading disinfo about me via PMs and such behind the scenes should be enough proof of this.

If you're curious to verify my claims just ask someone you do trust who can verify this.

Finkleroy is well known and liked, and he should be able to, for starters.

In fact he goes out of his way to be an irritant, and that is why he cops so much flack.
It's usually more like some people (in general online and offline) seem to have very little tolerance for some things I say or do (which I do because that's who I am and how I speak.....I am often not trying to bother anyone) and instead of getting to know me they seem to just attribute whatever I do or say to me being irritating for the heck of it(likely because it's easier to write people off in such a way than to get to know someone and develop tolerance for their quirks and the like).

I wish him all the best, but I refuse to directly engage with him anymore ... its tiring and tiresome.
Fair enough, and sorry for all the irritation i've caused you (and might unintentionally cause in the future due to my quirks and such).

Have a good one, and good luck with your projects btw(I am actually hoping you succeed in them for the sake of those who want or need such things).

Thank you for telling me and the forum your side of things in a sensible and mature manner.

No worries.
I tried hard not to be hurtful to him etc with what I wrote to you (plus for him and others), and I nearly didn't post at all, because it is hard to not have some negative impact, and he now claims OCD and I am sure many of us eventually suspected something, and don't wish to be mean to him.

How you deal with that, I don't know ... and we have no proof anyway ... anyone can claim anything in the digital world.
All I know is the impact his posts have ... the disruption and distraction ... the muddying of the waters.
I and others make posts, and before you know it they are buried by his avalanche of replies.

He does rather remind me, at times, of 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf'.

He certainly suffers from some compulsion, and I hope he can get on top of it and rein it in. All the best to him.

Thank you for that sentiment.

I try on occasion, and have cut down my posting by a decent amount. Still, it can be hard.

So once again thanks for this....also good luck with your various programs.
