so everytime i press play on a game nothing happens, is this something new or are they working on it? i wanna be able to play the witcher but i cant

Close Galaxy (and uninstall it while you're at it), navigate to
<Drive>:\GOG Games\The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt\bin\x64
and double-click on witcher3.exe

Problem solved.

Might be missing some kind of dependency. You could try to verify / repair your game via manage installation -> verify / repair.

Also as noted above, you can bypass Galaxy and play, however you will not get achievements and your saves won't be back up to the cloud. But to me, this sounds more like a game problem then a Galaxy problem. So it may not work anyway.
