That indicates a problem on GOG's end that requires a solution on their part. If their end users are not understanding what's going on, then it's because they failed to communicate what is going on in a clear way.
But I suspect that GOG leaves these things unclear deliberately as a covert means to push the Galaxy client onto as many of their customers as possible...because many customers don't understand that it's not needed nor how to avoid using it; therefore they use it, even though a lot them really don't want to, and wouldn't have, if given a clearly informed choice.
For a long time, many people have posted that GOG should make these things more clear, yet they never do.
