Imagine yourself in this situation: you’re browsing your library, not really knowing what you look for, and you realize you’d like to find something new to play. If this sounds familiar, we have good news - Kleio update with the new Discover view is here to help you with that.

Our newest update introduces a new tab in the GOG GALAXY client to see what's new on GOG and displays game recommendations tailored specially for you, based on your activity on GOG or chosen tags. We hope that like the mythical muse Kleio, it will bring you inspiration and help you discover your next adventure.

The new tab will also contain a news section, to inform you about all things GOG, as well as ongoing events, and some other useful shortcuts, like one to our full catalog or the good old games.

We’re excited by the introduction of the Discover view, and we’d like to hear your thoughts on it too! Please write any feedback you’ll have for the new feature, so we can improve it to better suit your needs in the future.
Nice gotta try GoG again at Cyberpunk Expansion.

Go Crypto/NFT thats what I gotta say about GoG's improvements. That should build quite much hype for Witcher 4. All achievements gives you crypto etc. NFT pre-order stuff.

Strongly disagree. Just take a look at how some competitors have fared. Please no NFTs - for many, they are the bridge to consumer-unfriendly practices. Shitstorm guaranteed.

Short feedback as a user:

Steam has reached portal status for me. Here I have more than just a storefront and game library - I see many contacts, have mods, community posts and reviews, etc. No one has reached this for me besides Steam - not even GoG. Here I come to play my GoG games and buy games from CD Project Red or classics. When I come, I usually know what I'm looking for.

The Discover view is appealing, but I'm missing some information and structure. I see products and I'm told they "should interest me based on my tags", but behind that there are no needs or emotions for me. For example, if it was explained "You liked Subnautica? Then you'll love this!" or "Want more old-school RPGs? Try Might and Magic 7!" In addition to the reason for the suggestion, categories would still be good - ones that correspond to a mood. Then in the first step, I look for my need in the category (flavor sweet or salty?) And then let myself be seduced by the offer.

The unique selling point for me is that GoG centralizes games from all platforms. Would it be possible to tap into this information (e.g. from Steam) for recommendations? And would it be possible to offer a foreign chat client that works with Steam friends, for example? Similar to older chat clients that could combine multiple services.

By the way, feedback - forums are nice, but an in-app feedback overlay that you can write directly and send would probably have higher conversion rates. Here I land in a forum (ugh - four pages - do I have to read all of that before I write?) And I'm a little intimidated. After all, I'm just passing through.

All in all, I like the GoG client very much. It's not as powerful as Steam, but aesthetically and clear. And as "Good old games" of course the client of hearts. Please keep it up! <3

I just laughed when reading this. Well done, sir.

As for the update - pretty neat overall! The thumbnails of the games don't get me that excited as compared to some other platforms, but I enjoy the overall atmosphere of the Discover tab. The News sections is a nice addition as well.

I like the Discover view, it's all very nice, but I wonder if at some point the ability to say you're not interested in some of the recommended games could be added? Like a button on the pop-out when you hover over the game to dismiss the recommendation maybe.
I browsed some of the games in the NSFW sale recently (I didn't buy any, honest!) and now every time I open Galaxy I see hentai games under the words "Games for you" lol. I mean it's not a big deal for me because only I use the account but it would be nice to be able to give some feedback on the recommendations so I'm actually seeing games similar to what I normally purchase. I'm more likely to be tempted to buy those ;)
With all the things the launcher needs, THIS is what was worthy of an update? Ok... :(
I am spending too much time in galaxy and not enough playing (JK - Galaxy is great, it has basically replaced all my launchers).... welcome any performance improvements you can provide.
How do you report a trouble? My GOG game of Heroes of Might & Magic III says it hasn't synced for 53 years.

You fight your way past the level 4 support bot and then talk to a member of the support staff.

And of course first you check your installation and settings, see if sync is active and so on.
You can also first backup your savegames, then reinstall the game and see if that helps.

would be nice if the integrations worked without doing this that or the other to jump through hoops to get them to work. i gonna nope this since gog galaxy excludes most of my games due to wonky integrations even though the galaxy is touted to bring all your games to one place. i used to like the service and purchase from gog. oh well. your choice to not support the integrations or continue to offer crap integrations that dont work on my high end machines.
