It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

So when i attempt to download a game it shows it downloading a file larger than the game. so when i tried downloading Wtcher 2 from the Galaxy client it shows it downloading 25 Gb when on the shelf it shows the game is only 15 Gb. same for Witcher 3 where it downloaded like 26 Gb and the shelf shows it to be like 22 Gb

The installers are a kind of compressed archive. Galaxy doesn't support compression for what it downloads yet (other than any compression the game's assets may be using), so the download size is basically the same as the installation footprint.

I just want to add that I find this a rather big issue and an obstacle to the client becoming popular. C'mon CDP team, we need to compete with Steam!
