But you can try this workaround, it helped some people:
Open the windows console and type: sc delete GalaxyClientService
Then reinstall the client.
Thank you very much mate! This methode totaly fixed my problem.

Have a good day!
Thanks a bunch,
this worked for me as well. GoG needs to fix this asap. It makes me leery of their product when this is the first thing that happens just trying to install.
I had this same problem which was also accompanied by a message along the lines of "Galaxy Communication client has failed". Turns out my windows installer was broken which prevented the VCRedist from installing properly. If anyone else is having this problem try installing the VC package individually and see if it helps (the link to it is on the gog faq)

Hey everybody,
I keep trying all of these solutions and what not and seemed to try everything, until i decided to check the main gog galaxy errors page and discovered that all i had to do was:

1. Uninstall
2. Reinstall
3.Change Path to "C:Program Files(x86)/GalaxyClient"
4.Finish Installation
5. And Fixed!

Hope this helps Good Luck!
Is it normal you still get this message a decade later?
