I share my internet connection with three other people, all of whom like playing online, downloading stuff, skyping, watching Youtube and the like. We are a pretty social bunch and put download limits into our respective Steam accounts. GOG Galaxy doesn't offer this yet and I sincerely hope it will be implemented soon - otherwise I must either download my games while nobody else is home or just go for it and risk the violent wrath of an LoL player who got ganked by lag.

I'm scared.

Anybody else in desperate need of download limits?
I share my internet connection with my family and i normally cap my downloads at 3 MB/s, so that everyone else can watch YouTube videos or surf normally without waiting for videos or websites to load.

I would really like to see this feature implemented in GOG Galaxy.

Considering that Galaxy has just entered its beta phase, it could take a while until all functions are in place. The GOG downloader does allow limiting the download speed.
Yup. Not only do I share my broadband connection with my husband, but we both work from home. If I try and have a large game downloading in the background I suck up all of our bandwidth and leave nothing for us to work with.

The original downloader had an option to type in the upper limit, so I'm hoping that this should be a 'to be added' aspect for Galaxy.
This is embarrassing...

This is basic functionality! Files are so big nowadays and if you've a slower connection it'll occupy the connection for a long time!

Why isn't this already in?!
You should post it there, unless it's there already, then just press vote +1: http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy

EDIT: Already found it http://www.gog.com/wishlist/galaxy/bandwidth_limit

Sounds like a useful feature and seemingly not hard to implement if Gog already has this feature in its Downloader. If you want to use Galaxy to download, right now I'd recommend using a throttling application. Here are 3 free ones:

Galaxy is still a beta, but I hope they really consider a download limiter. That'd be nice.

For now, you'll have to use a net control program to do the task. If you're a Windows user, I recommend NetBalancer to control and monitor your download and upload speeds on an app-by-app basis.

Now, now. Give 'em a break. Galaxy's still in beta. You know, like it has been ever since it first came out.
