It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

To quickly check if you have any Galaxy bundled installers, look at the file names, they have _(g) at the end.

ranhg: Welcome everyone to the daily post about "GOG Galaxy in my offline installers REEEEE"

More info tomorrow.

EDIT: Missed a "L"
Welcome to someone pointing out that he/she is browsing this forum 24/7 and knows everything so everyone else should know that too.
If these topics keep popping up, shouldn‘t GOG ask themselves if maybe, only maybe they could change something or make it clearer, so that it doesn‘t look like they do not want to inform their users of their possible options?

Or maybe, just maybe, people should start to read

Read what? I just looked at the first page of the forums and see no other posts addressing this particular Galaxy issue. Nor do I think it's announced in any of GOG's stickies. Yeah, I know it seems like there's one every day (which is somewhat of an exaggeration), but I also check the forums every day, so I - like you - are painfully aware of it. As noted by john (and as much as it pains me to agree with him) if someone doesn't cruise the forums regularly, they're likely not going to be aware of the Galaxy install by default issue.

*edit* Or did you mean to read the disclaimer is small lettering at the bottom of the game DL page in the Library? If so, point taken, but it's still a terrible set-up by GOG and it's easy for anyone - even people that are aware of it - to make the mistake of grabbing Galaxy-laden installers and install it by accident.

I completely agree. With the embedded Galaxy installers GOG wanted to make sure that even newbies would be able to use all the features Galaxy is providing without opening a support ticket because those would be missing in case of a non Galaxy installation. But because GOG never communicated this clearly anywhere it now seems to be the other way around. New people are wondering why Galaxy has been installed in the first place without their knowing.

I said it then and I say it again: the actual "solution" is not a good one and it's clearly miscommunicated (if you can call no communicatiuon this way) to every buyer who is not browsing the forum 24/7. So I would recommend GOG to go back to the drawing board and think of another olution - maybe one of the many we suggested here when the uproar started.

And I would like to add that I am still EXTREMELY disappointed that the PROMISED option to set classic installers as default still has not been implemented here at all - and I have been patient. Not only did they not implement it they did not even talk about it at all ... yes, we are used to GOG not communicating with us but I sincerely was hoping this would change a bit after our visit and our talks then.

I get the feeling these topics pop up a lot more than the mythical 'I can't find how to download my game' posts GOG used as a reason to put these in the installers.

that would indicate Gog's plan worked out, wouldn't it? ;)

Watch out. If you don't change your attitude, you will probably not get your next GOG paycheck. ;-) Just kidding.

Just the other day I was thinking about reviving the "6 people went to GOG" thread and ask about the changes that have happened since summer, but then I thought, that I might give them more time.
Now reading your statement, I might not be wonrg with some of my feelings towards GOG after all.

And regarding the "download disclaimer", I still think that this a joke. Yes, you could read that (what I did when I first encountered it, but GOG could implement their promised "make non DRM download default" button and no one can complain about it anymore.

Are you suggesting people no longer have trouble finding and downloading their games from their library, because those games now come with Galaxy... after said users find and download them from their library? I guess that makes sense.

Cheers for the chuckle, +1.
