Bass player here, though I need to take my bass to a tech for repairs; Had it taken to the shop to get some electronics work before moving here, and the tech decided to lower the action, since I have it up reasonably high. Tried it 3 weeks after I arrived and there was a light buzzing on the 3rd fret, D string. Thought nothing of it, but 4 weeks later, all strings were unplayable. Will need to get it sorted soon, because I'm dying for a night of beers, music and bleeding fingers :D

Thanks for the tip - figured as much :(. It was either humidity or the fact that I had to bring it with me on the plane.

I've been very hesitant to touch it as I don't have the equipment over here. My main worry atm is I'll need to get the entire neck and fretboard replaced, if it's warped in anyway :(. Having said that, it's only an LTD-50, so not the end of the world. Had it for 10 years though, so it's still mah bae ;)
