It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Hey

I have to vent here: I regularly check my library for updated files which I would like to download and then host locally. I don't want to use Galaxy which imo sucks as well.

The problem is that a) very often there are a lot of game marked as "updated" when there isn't actually anything new to download. And more importantly b) a lot of downloads will fail and it appears that users can't download more than 3 files at once.

I mean it's 2024 and all... maybe we could change something about that?

Rant off
You could use wget or curl to skip the entire process, but yeah! GOG used to have a dedicated downloader, but it died.

Also the format of the downloads could be better. Instead of massive blobs, throw tar.gzs at everyone.

Well, I can download five (5) files at once without any problems.
My max. DL-speed (here on GOG) gets simply divided by five and equally attributed to all five files.

That's usually fast enough to download even big new games completely within few minutes.

The only "downside" to that, is that I have to keep an eye on the downloads, so I can mark the next five files, once the first batch is done.

Not that useless bloated pile of electron disguised as code. Something simpler; much simpler.
I'd say it's more frequent that an update exists but it isn't marked. Otherwise, the updated flag applies to any sort of change, on any platform, so if a game is available for multiple platforms it may well be that there actually was an update, but for a platform that's not the one you're interested in.

And as far as I recall, I never had a download fail, and can download several files at once, though since the speed is divided between them, starting too many is hardly useful.

The fix for all your problems can be found by googling "gogrepoc kalanyr". It isn't (necessarily) affected by faulty update flags but can see by other means if something has changed or is new, and you don't have to manually click through dozens or millions of download links.

I suggest you use the "dev" version as it is updated more often.

That you do not lke it, does not change the fact that this is the downloder gOg is now using. Facts do not care about your feelings
