It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).

What is the maximum speed that I can download from GOG? I recently upgraded to Gigabyte Internet, and I come in around 300 MBs. Just wondering what other people are getting.
300 MB per second download? Jesus, how is this possible? Do you use extraterrestrial technology?

That was probably meant to be megabits per second. Which is still very impressive.

I have a reliable 500 Mbps fiber connection. Just now I downloaded a game, and the highest speed I've seen was 26 MB/s, which is less than half of my available bandwidth. That is to say GOG is unfortunately rather slow. Not awful, but still slow.

oh snap! And here I am getting goosebumps with my 100Kbps speed.

I just bought my first and possibly my last game from GOG.

It's a 6gb game and the speeds sucked so bad, that I bought the same game from Amazon AGAIN so I could actually play it tonight......

Using my download manager I was averaging 1.3MB/s for file 2, using my browser for the 3rd and final file it was ~200kb/s

My usual speeds from Steam/Origin/Uplay is 8+MB/s(it maxes my connection 95% of the time).

I have a measly 60Mbps connection that's slow compared to 500Mbps and even by my lower speed standards it's slow.

I hit my speed cap everytime 6.20-7.11 MB/s there has never been a time via any method of downloading (galaxy/downloader/python/web/direct) that i have not hit my cap.. Midwest USA here.
Just imagine if GOG Galaxy would use P2P to distribute the games and updates...

I'd /wrists.
On a 1000 Mbit connection you would get max 125 MB/s, 1 byte is 8 bit. I have a 100 Mbit and downloads around 10-11 MB/s from GOG.
I take back my speed complaint. I re-downloaded the game, this time using Galaxy and it was actually maxing my connection the majority of the time. So it was just slow via browser for me.
well i get about 12 Megabyte per second which is the maximum on my 100Mbit connection. So speed in general are decent. As Alaric said he reaches 26 Megabyte per second which is already kinda close to the ~36 MB/s cap of your 300Mbit connection so you should be fine.

Copy and paste from the other thread about this:

Having said that, there appears to be backbone issues here in the US this morning. Time Warner is showing a large problem along the south east US coast. I know at the office, we didn't have any internet and the restaurant I went to breakfast this morning, they couldn't even run a credit card.

Outage map: http://downdetector.com/status/spectrum/map/

The download server is with a CDN service called Highwinds Network Group and there's nothing on their Facebook or Twitter about any issues (It's all sales crud anyway) and I don;t see a public status page either. And I don't see any mention of uplinks so I can;t check anything.

It must really be only 2 guys running the place and nothing but empty office space:

:)

edit: Having said that, make sure which ever downloader you're using can get past the firewall. That's been a common problem for many.
