Hi friends,

I bought Dragon's Dogma and Lords of the Fallen from Steam this week, because they had an amazing sale. Bu I would rather download and use the programmes through GOG, since it favours people who like offline play, and I tend to travel a lot, so I can't always be logged in to Steam. But when I go to sync my account, it always says no games found... I thought that any game on Steam that's shared by GOG would be detected...am I doing something wrong? Any help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated....

Best,
John
If you want your games on GOG, buy them on GOG! I also prefer GOG because of travelling and playing across many different computers.

NO connectable titles as of right now.

The connect thing is not permanent but rather a time and title limited occasional offer, typically 5-40 games during five days. We never know beforehand which games or when.

You do understand that if GOG just keeps giving away games, they only incur costs but get no income.

There's no Gog Connect available currently. The program only available from time to time on special occasion and this year it happens less and less. If you want to have a game on gog, buy it on gog.
It is up to the publisher to put their games on gog connect if they want. I doubt dragons dogma will ever come to gog connect because capcom.

"because capcom"
Probably the First Evil when it comes to video games, yet also one of the earliest Virtues.... ;)
Please read the info and FAQ on the Connect page:

The eligible games are limited-time offers made possible by participating developers and publishers [...]

2. Is every game released on GOG.com eligible?

We can only make a selection of games eligible depending on various agreements with our partners. You'll always be able to find an up-to-date list of eligible titles on this page.

3. How long will these games be eligible?

Duration will vary from game to game – the time left to redeem each game is shown on its respective product icon above.

At the moment, not a single game is eligible on GOG Connect. If your aim were to transfer your games from Steam to GOG, then you had probably already wasted some of your money. Therefore, what you need to do is wait for a major sale to start on GOG so that you can wisely decide on which game you want to buy from Steam only to later on transfer to your GOG Library. The reason being is because some games will only become eligible on GOG Connect whenever a major sale takes place.

However, if you insist, you might find some luck by observing the pattern for the game titles that usually appear on GOG Connect (which I believe Torchlight is one of those many games that you often see in the list). Apart from that, you may want to beg to one of the GOG forum moderators to let some of the games that you bought from Steam to be included in GOG Connect during the next major sale.

How do I know all this? I'm one of those people waiting in a remote, dark, and desolate cave, for a light from GOG to finally brush my face, informing me that there are finally some games in GOG Connect. And if the games eligible were not something that I own on Steam, then I would sadly turn my back and slowly walk back towards the cave which I had previously spent months waiting, as a river of tears would follow me as I dragged my feet.

Ah, that's sad. I hope that they'll return W3 on Winter sale.
