Just updating this thread. Something to try:

I just did the Gog Connect thing for the recent batch of games, and while 2 games connected, one taht was in my Steam library (Sexy Brutale) didn't show as available. I refreshed my Steam account and while it updated my steam avatar, the game still didn't show as available.

In the FAQ it suggested starting that game in Steam and then checking again. So I started the game in steam and then came back and refreshed Gog Connect. The game shows up this time and I can connect it to my Gog account. Anyhow, starting the game in Steam and refreshing worked for me. Might be worth a try if something doesn't show up for you.

I had the same experience with HuniePop. In my case, after several failed attempts at refreshing the account (all other games I had connected properly), this game appeared and connected after I actually installed it on Steam (didn't have to start it at all but Steam now shows "Last Played Today" so in a sense installing it appears to be the same as playing it).

Thank you both! I had the same issue with Sexy Brutale and can confirm now is showing after just installing it.

I only joined this site because I was given the impression that I could link GOG with my existing Steam account. Just another scam.

You can. And on occasion they give you a free drm version of a game as well. There is no scam, its simply a marketing ploy to get customers over to this store.

Yep, sounds like a scam to me. Just waiting for GOG to finish plundering my pc for worthless data before they agree to close my account, and then maybe I'll get my broadband speed back!

Your an obvious spammer. There is no scam. There is no data collection. The client (which I also dislike) is completely optional. You can download any game you want as simple files, no connection to the net outside downloading the installers. Once you have those files you never need the internet again. They do collect a bit of information to setup the account, as any web store does, and payment information, that is all you need to provide. I am sure if you sent a support message they would happily close your account if that is what you want. Your lack of broadband speed has nothing to do with gog (unless you are downloading files), and you should be able to remove galaxy without any issues.
As for going back to steam, or one of the other stores, it far more likely they are data scraping as internet connection is required for a lot of their products, it’s the main selling point here, drm free, get your files and they are yours to keep.
But if that’s a scam, then go with blessing.
