As I was picking my nominations for this year's Steam Awards I got thinking, could GOG have it's own Awards picked by the users? How could CD Projekt put thier own spin on the awards system that would encourage users to use it?

Would be interesting to hear what all of you think about this.
Another one?

FrozenDoom: ...Steam Awards...
Sorry to ask but what is Steam Awards? An explanation would great, but a link could work just as well, I guess. That might help get the discussion started. Or am I the only one that has never heard of this?

EDIT: Actually I got curious, and I did some searching, and according to wiki:

The Steam Awards are selected in two phases. In the first phase, Valve selects a number of categories, atypical of those used in gaming awards, and allows any registered Steam user to select one game available on Steam for that category. Valve also allows each user to offer a suggest for a new category ("We Didn't Think of Everything"), and their nomination for that category.

Valve subsequently reviews the nominations. For the pre-defined categories, Valve selects the five top games for final voting, and then reviews the user-defined categories to select a number that represent the most-frequently suggested ones, and the top five games nominated for those. These nominations are then presented to Steam users during another week-long period, giving each user the opportunity to vote for one of the five nominated games in each category. Following this, Valve announces the winners.

Copy and paste the link. The software will take care of it. Usually.

re: OP: probably not going to happen any time soon. GOG isn't an industry leader, it'd just be seen as wannabeism and result in a minor PR hit. Not worth programmer-hours.

Thanks store.steampowered.com/SteamAwardNominations] for anyone who wants to know what I am talking about.

Yeah that is an issue. CDP would have to work very hard and it might not be worth the bother. Eh was just a thought.

You misplaced the first closing bracket.

Done thanks.
The http:// or https:// is also needed.

Serious though. Just copy and paste the link to the forums. Don't worry about the url brackets unless you want to get fancy.

There's examples on how to do it though:
