As I was doing the yearly Steam awards I got thinking. Would it be a good idea for GOG to have a simlier awards system to Steam's.

What do you guys think about this? How could GOG take this idea and make it thier own?

I think it would be nice if GOG would take a break from implementing Steam-like ideas, whatever they are. I'm damned tired of how everything in this world, places, products, movies, companies etc strive to lose any sense of unique identity by mimicking their "more succesful" counterparts in pursuit of profit.

not sure how gOg would implemented it, but I think it is a good idea. it is fun and can maybe bring out some of the hidden gems. but keep it more compact -steam has too many categories this year, and frankly they felt too samey for me. but come up with a few good categories, and let people nominate the games of the year - why not? a good way to leave the old one and enter the new one
Awards for what? Most unfinished or abandoned game, most online only, most pixalated retro title, most roguelike etc. It's a storefront not some self agranduering overpaid Hollywood dickwipes.

And what's wrong with awards? I think Troll of the month would be very hotly contested in this place.

Everything.

Doesn't look like anyone is really interested in the idea:
