GioVio123: Then that just stablishes how much they have gona through as a band,

Considering the many times they have experimented with each genre there is with a guitar,
You haven’t heard very many guitar-based genres, have you...?
God listens to Slayer... and Danzig needs saltines and yaaaaaaaammmmmmssss.

Danzig Shopping List

Now how can metal survive the internet age? Simple, it can't. It's pro wrestling. Cats out of the bag. There was a time when metal and punk were dangerous. Then the metal and punk guys all got old... and then the internet showed up. Game's over. Jigs up. Time to get into space rocketry or mountain climbing.

And no, I'm not gonna bother posting a link to Danzig getting knocked out. Everyone's already seen that.

maybe just 10, that isn't many

But do you ask if you know every brand or that a company has made every type of fabric and be serious about itwhen pointing out it's time on it's industry? (or do you asume all those outside your social circle don´t?) it's an exageration you fucking putz, Motorhead has been as I have been corrected for 30 years, I think I can go on a limb and say EVERY genre has being played by them while being obvious it isn't as I took two damn lines to build up the fact I said that in the last text

TL;DR: I was being sarcastic

I don't listen to metal, but I did notice this today. As a non-fan it's still sad.

JKHSawyer: Odd thread, but I grew up listening to Slayer thanks to my dad so they will always have a place in my <3

Well to be honest, a lot is wrong with me. But I said random metal because I was just throwing a random song out there.

I was mostly kidding. Cattle Decapitation just happens to be a "holy cow" for me, because of their stance on animal rights and environmental protection.

nightcraw1er.488: Ok, you guys seem knowledgeable. What the fuck happened to mettalica? Am watching them on telly at reading and thought the same when I saw them in Belgium. I mean justice album, superb. Now they are lamer than a fart in a paper bag. Have they found god like megadeath or something. Its making me feel sick watching teeny pops on stage with with what appears to be a 6 year old manga reject (bassist with pigtails). Fuck it!

Elmofongo: Their live performances these days suck. Especially how James sings now.

And yes I think the Justice Album is the most Thrash they have ever written.

Classic Metallica died with the Black Album.
I love S&M and saw them at Woodstock in '99 and they fucking rocked it. Since then, they've fallen off, but I don't totally hate everything after The Black Album, it's just not as good. I haven't seen any recent live performances of them, I'm surprised to hear that James' voice has fallen off, he's always had such a great one, what happened?

He's more or less falling apart.

On "The Final Frontier" (five years ago), Bruce Dickinson's voice was a couple of notches below what he used to be able to do (no idea about The Book Of Souls). It has already been said in this thread: people get old. :/

Age and something to do with losing his voice sometime during the recording of Black Album (or after?)
My favorite Slayer track:

After, I'd guess.

He improved from record to record right till 1999. His voice never sounded better than on S&M, where he had the widest range, the most versatility and hit every note pretty much pitch-perfect. Which is particularly impressive since it is a live recording.

But apparently that was the pinnacle because it has only been going downhill since, especially live...

Actually, I used to have raw recordings of BOTH S&M shows (lost my HD with them on it and never had backups and they are no longer findable ANYwhere, it really really sucks) and you could hear him miss some notes/squeak sometimes. They re-mastered the recordings to fix his errors.

Doubtless, but still the sound engineers only got two shots to work with and combine for every song so the initial quality must have been quite impressive overall. After all he never achieved anywhere near that quality again, even on studio recordings with potentially infinite attempts at any given track.
