It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

I don't always launch The Witcher 3 using GOG. I usually just use GOG to check to see if there are any updates to install. I'm often required to re-enter my password, and I assume that GOG requires this after a period of inactivity. Is there any setting that can extend the length of inactivity before having to re-enter the password? This is a PITA since my password is long. Steam doesn't seem to require password re-entry nearly as often.

I assume you mean Galaxy (GOG is the site, Galaxy is the client). The client does not have a setting for password retention time, but it shouldn't prompt you very frequently, unless you have changed your password since last logging into the client.

I seem to see so many people doing this, which is odd considering I never see anyone referring to the Steam client as "Valve". Now, I don't use Galaxy myself, so I am curious: Is the name of the client (Galaxy) not actually shown anywhere in the client itself, or in the shortcut used to start it?

Shortcut and client title bar say "GOG Galaxy".

EDIT - however the icon is just the "gog com" logo.

Don't know what is PITA, but if you're using browser to access GOG, usually the browser should have that auto-fill option to remember user/password for specific websites.
Yup, I meant the client but you guys figured that out. The last time I logged into it was four days ago, and it asked me for my password today. That seems like a short time before requiring password re-entry.

Also, "Valve" is barely mentioned at all in Steam. You'd have to read the legal documents to find any mention of the company, and how many people go there?

Steam is the name of both their client and the storefront, and Valve is only the name of the company.
Galaxy is only the name of the client, while GOG is the name of both the storefront and the company.

Pain in the "rear end." Not to be confused with pita bread used for falafels.

You are not alone. I've installed Galaxy, but I don't use it. I want the one page view to come back :(.

Chalk it up to the client still being a (very) buggy beta version. You should report it on http://mantis.gog.com (or add your info to an existing report if there).

L0L :), btw OP if you're using private browsing your browser automatically deletes all cookies, which are the way GOG can remember you for up to a week (as tested by me).
