System Shock 2

I bought it the day it was re-released here, go about as far as the first chemical room you find and never really got any farther than that.

Deus Ex is a similar story; I barely finished the first level but never got around to the rest because of stupid game glitches messing up my saves.
I like the way the poster above me put it, knowingly abandoned. These are a few I was happy to drop in the bin;

Oblivion

Final Fantasy 13 - Tried twice to play it, I hate this game.

Hitman: Absolution

Devil May Cry 3 - I like a challenge, but two bosses is cheating.

Grim Fandango - I can't stand adventure gaming and one's that are impossible to work out make it even worse.

Tales from Monkey Island - Same as above but replace the last part with puzzles that make absolutely no sense.

The Path of Neo

Baldur's Gate 2 - Sorry, but there's a point when casting magic becomes work not fun.

Kane and Lynch: Dog Days
Another necro, interesting...

I think I have finished more games than quit but I also think that this is something that won't be true for long, if it is in fact still true.

When I started computer gaming it was not as cheap as it is today. Computer games 30 years ago cost a lot more than today when you take inflation into account, which mean one would work at a problem part for weeks (or months) before quitting.

Now if I only spend a few hours on a $50 dollar games then I don't feel bad if I quit, after all even on minimum wage it cost less than a day's work.

With all that said I do feel bad (kind of) to never finishing any of the Westwood RTS after Red Alert 2, and I think it's a miracle I played that one in full. I really hate their decision of removing game speed control from their RTS. This is the main reason why I never got far into C&C 3 or Red Alert 3. General just bored me, it did not feel like a Westwood RTS.

I also never finished any racing game (beside Death Rally) because they either get repetitive or too hard. I don't feel bad about those as I think I got a lot of entertainment for my money.

I would feel really bad if I didn't finish a game I was gifted or won in a GA. I would feel like I am breaking someone's trust if that happened. I haven't finished all of those games but the one I started I just on pause, I do intend to finish them.
(also known as the pile of shame)

Just about all the games I own....
No shame, don't care whether I finish a game or not.No skin off my nose..
Devil May Cry 3 - Literally spent the entire boss fight flying through the air like the fricken matrix ninja gaiden, nothing. F and U.

Was enjoying System Shock 2. But in the end there's too many corridors, that all look exactly the same, I have no idea where I'm going. I have no idea where the medical area is or wtf.
My internet is kinda broken, sure as hell can't download any games so I took a look at all my downloaded installers. On this occasion I rediscovered my old "Strategy First" folder which contains 29 games from a promo in late 2012. I hadn't touched any of those until yesterday, instantly launched three of them and I think I'm not going to finish a single one of them.

First I installed Desert Gunner. I knew that it can't be a very good game but people also always generally criticized City Interactive's old shooters like the Terrorist Takedown series (which were rail shooters first and became first person shooters later on) and the truth is that I enjoyed some of these low budget shooters. But oh my... Desert Gunner is a completely different level of crap. It can hardly be put into words. It's simply FUBAR. After a couple of minutes I had beaten half the game, then there was one ridiculously tough and frustrating level and I gave up. That's a game that's never going to be welcome on my HDD again.

Then I tried Emergency 3 which turned out to be a terribly designed and ridiculously frustrating game really soon but I haven't completely given up on that one just yet.

After several really frustrating experiences with Emergecy 3 I moved on to Alliance: Future Combat which seemed cool on screenshots but soon turns out to be an incredibly mediocre game which additionally simply has no character. Two missions in I was terribly bored, a bit frustrated and the game offered nothing that would keep me playing. I couldn't care less about what's going on and in a game this slow and boring that means that I'm simply not going to play it.
