Open ended discussion. Tell me if there's any picks from this sale that's soon to run out that resemble wasteland 2.

Apocalypse is nice but I'm open to other settings

I...I downloaded wasteland 2 a year ago through torrents and it was a GOG installer based download that didn't need GOG and I liked what I saw but I stopped playing it and eventually reformatted my drive down the road. That and I'd rather atleast support the devs of wasteland 2 but it's not on sale right now and I have an itch to have a game similar to that in my GOG library.

Fallout Tactics, UFO Enemy Unknown, X-Com Terror from the Deep or the Jagged Alliance serie are a good beginning.
On current sale, probably divinity original sin. I haven't play either divinity or wasteland, but form the look of it, gameplay seems similar

If you want other similar game, there are 3 shadowrun games that I can personally recommend. With Dragonfall as best imo
On sale now:

Dragon Age Origins
Pillars of Eternity
Spellforce 2: Shadow Wars

There's more, but those are the ones I would recommend.

Wasteland 3 is going to have a croudfunding campaign of Fig starting on October 5th, and there is a good chance that Wasteland 2 will show up as one of the backer rewards if you pay a certain amount; that might be a good way to support the devs of Wasteland 2.

Also, in the Bard's Tale IV Kickstarter, one of the reward tiers gave you a "Guilt Absolution", in which the CEO Brian Fargo would forgive you for pirating his game. Maybe the Wasteland 3 croudfunding campaign might have something like that?

If you truly meant that you could buy it on full price. That's the logic way to follow to have similar games released.

The point is, if you don't buy the games you like the most on full price, as you said, to support the devs, why would anyone else do the same ? That would be an unreasonable expectation.
If you don't follow what I am trying to say, you may just stop playing video games right now because you are following a road to disappointment.

I have not played Hard West yet, but it looks like it should fit pretty well. That's why I'm keeping an eye on it.
Apart from the mentioned Pillars of Eternity (Fantasy, 50% off) and Shadowrun series (Cyberpunk, not on sale but cheap), there's also:

Divinity: Original Sin (Fantasy, 50% off),
and the games by Spiderweb Software (mostly Fantasy, with a bit of Sci-Fi in Geneforge, up to 75% off).

Or, if it doesn't have to be an RPG: Desperados (Wild West, 74% off) and Commandos (World War II).

Wow another wasteland? I liked what I played of wasteland 2 but it played kinda dragged out. Hope wasteland 3 is faster paced then I might cave in.
