Leroux: The trick is to play the games that you actually enjoy and not the games that you think you should enjoy but that feel more of a chore to play through, if you're being honest with yourself. Find the ones that make you stay in the moment, the ones you feel tempted to play on and on, because they are so much fun that you forget worrying about how much time it would take you to be finally done with them. In the search for the right match, don't be afraid to drop games if they start boring you or stressing you out with their length.
Tell me what games you enjoy to play?

I feel we are forced to play the game. We play what we get. Game industry is nothing like movie/music industry, where you have plenty of options to choose from. Good games are rare, gamers hated Cyberpunk but yet its a game of the decade easily.

I try to avoid the most time consuming games (RPGs and strategy) for most part. Besides that... Just watching my backlog grow. Every evening is a balance act between being a resonsible husband/father and an avid gamer. ^^

Noone is forcing anyone to play games. If you can't find anything you enjoy, there is an even easier way to save time: stop gaming altogether. ;)

Anyway, the OP was specifically talking about old games, not the state of the industry today or the current game of the decade.
