I was just wondering if there is yet a way to set auto-updates for games in the Galaxy client to disabled by default. I'd rather manually manage all my data.

If you can't do it thru the program then you need to wait for Galaxy to implement it.
not at this moment but when it's added you will be able to just click the cog icon at the bottom left of the client and disable auto updates.

Edit: Oh did you mean on a game by game basis? because you can do that. Just click on the more button and then config and then disable auto updates. If you mean globally/for all games at once that's coming soon(see pic).

I've already had to reinstall The Escapists three times because of this. Even if I just click on Galaxy for a second to see if it's working it totally fucks that game up. :P

did you set updates for that game to off? that usually does the trick. If not then just click on the game and click more-> configure and then disabled. This helped me tons with some of the Ultima games since I had 2,3 and 5 patched to use the graphic and midi patches for them and 6, Underworld 1 and 2, and the two worlds of Ultima spin-offs since I have those set up to use a Dosbox SVN so I can have Roland MT audio, which would cause Galaxy to "correct" them till I disabled the Auto updates for all of them.

For the most part I do but I haven't been getting my PMs so I checked to today to see if they were being kept in there and when I got back Escapists was back to an earlier version. I just have to be more careful because I'm not really that upset about it. It's pretty silly actually.

And yeah I did, and that was fine for a bit. But then I logged off and didn't touch Galaxy for two or three days, and as soon as I did BAM! it was back to screwing with me. The update wouldn't be a problem but it has a bug with that game and when updating actually brings it back to an older version.

Huh, weird. I logged off multiple times and my settings stayed. Did you check to see if Galaxy was resetting your setting(that just sounds odd) back to enable auto updates for the game? if so that's something that should be tagged on Mantis.

I tagged the game problem itself. I don't want to throw too much at them because I'm sure they have enough to deal with as is.
