There was an GOG user kept patching Galaxy for XP/Vista.
However, the person stopped the work months ago.
So no, you can not run GOG Galaxy on Windows XP.

Upgrade to a functioning version of Windows. If you're online on XP I advise you to stop for your own good.

Just download the backup offline installer. If the gamepage shows that XP is still supported, you can install it wherever you like.
