Hello everyone,

I have some questions about Galaxy Client. I want to know, why I have Galaxy Helper application process all time active? It tooks away some CPU even RAM usage and want to know if there is way how to disable it?

Besides this I want to know if I can run Witcher 3 directly from desktop icon, because icon which was created after installation simply open Galaxy window and then I need to click: PLAY button everytime.

Thank you for your answers and wish you a nice day!

Best regards,

Ithyr

I don't think so, as it's part of the client.

As far as I understand, the shortcut created for Witcher 3 by Galaxy has been programmed to automatically launch Galaxy, probably as part of the auto-update procedures. You can bypass the Galaxy launch by editing the shortcut's target path to directly mention the game's executable.
For the second question: Yes, Galaxy is completely optional, you don't need it installed at all.

For the first: I'd guess it's (partially) to keep track of play time, but I don't know.

Thanks guys for fast response.

I started using the client half month ago and I like it. I want use this app in the future because of these auto-update features.

You are right that shortcut turns on automatically Galaxy client. Anyway I can't add target path directly into game's folder because there is no ".exe" file. Well, there is only unins.exe files.

It's not big problem, but I rather prefer run game instantly from icon or tray icon menu which fcurrently is not added into Galaxy.

I don't know how the game's directory is arranged, as I don't have it, but look around in it, you might find a "bin" or "game" directory, within which you'll probably find the game's executable.

You won't unlock any achievements then, though, if you care about that stuff (and presuming that there are achievements in the Galaxy version - haven't bought the game myself yet).
Well, you are right, I missed directory in bin folder called x64. There is located witcher3.exe

Anyway is it safe to run game throught this? Since in manual, they wrote: It's important to use only icon created during installation and do not use any other .exe or path.

Yes, it is safe. The reason they probably wrote this, is because you won't get automatic updates if you don't run it through Galaxy and thus have the most up-to-date version.
Delete desktop icon and find exe in game folders. If that doesn't work
you can restore icon from trash bin.
It wont hurt double clicking exe in folders, sooner or later it will work
then just send to desktop as is.
Thanks guys for all suggest and tips.
