It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

amok: no, you just zip the folder, no need to re-download. The games that have those extra components are within the folder. Steam games, for example, even comes with a list of what needs to be installed elsewhere, and if there needs to be any registry keys added.
So in other words, you don't just zip the folder.

If it's not 100% of the time, it doesn't count, sorry. I'm not terribly fond of installers—the best archive file system was back when GOG was doing .dmg files for Mac versions, no installation, just drag'n'drop, which Galaxy put a stop to, so that's one more thing to thank Galaxy for (sarcasm). But they're clearly better than expecting people to manually handle it themselves.

kmanitou: you simply need the crack
...OK then.

sergeant_citrus: I don't consider needing a launcher to download a game to be DRM as long as I can ignore the launcher after it is downloaded, but I know that many people do.
GOG has set the expectation, for their store and customers, that needing to download through a launcher is DRM. Obviously they could simply drop that "principle", but, even though the crowd who cares about DRM and installers might be very small, at this point I think the backlash would still be pretty bad, even if just the gaming news headlines.

teceem: Edit: I found this one - is it missing anything? https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/
That's the one I use.

I'm not separating them really, but as long as offline installers are sold on the website I'll buy them. Galaxy is kind of irrelevant to that, if you get what I mean. If they stop being offered, I'll stop buying them.

At this point I think we should wait and see what happens and not run around spouting doom and gloom ahead of time.....like the past dozen or so times.

Until then, I go with *pic related*

(Also what's the problem if one doesn't use galaxy to begin with?)

my 2 cents
acting like galaxy is seperate is just GOG trying to have their cake and eat it too.
Being a DRM'd steam storefront and 'seperately' for single player content a no DRM digital provider.
just saying

no, it is just an issue of semantics, and me being used to British and academic ways of speaking, always with qualifiers. If a DRM free game from Steam need any dependencies, those are within the folder. so the folder can be zipped, with the dependencies needed. those who do not have any dependencies.... don't need them.... and can therefore also be zipped. so in reality, yes it is 100% of the time.

hop this is clearer now
